How to Install MetaMask on Chrome
- Open Chrome Web Store: Visit the official Chrome Web Store and search for "MetaMask". Always verify the publisher name.
- Select the official extension: Ensure it is published by MetaMask and check reviews & download count.
- Click “Add to Chrome”: Allow installation and wait for the extension to finish downloading.
- Pin the extension: Click the puzzle icon in Chrome and pin MetaMask for easy access.
Security Warning: Never install MetaMask from random websites or ads. Use only official sources.
Create or Import Your Wallet
Once installed, MetaMask will offer two options:
- Create a new wallet – Ideal for new users.
- Import an existing wallet – Requires your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
Creating a New Wallet
- Click Create a Wallet.
- Create a strong password.
- Secure your Secret Recovery Phrase offline.
- Confirm the words in correct order.
Importing an Existing Wallet

Never share your recovery phrase with any person, website, or application. MetaMask support will never ask for it.
