1. Unbox and inspect
Confirm the package seal is intact and that the contents include: your Trezor device, a USB cable, recovery seed cards, and quick start instructions.
2. Visit Trezor.io/start
Open your browser and go to the official onboarding page to download the correct Trezor Suite application for your operating system.
3. Download Trezor Suite
Install the desktop app (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Trezor Suite is the control center for managing assets, updating firmware, and reviewing transactions.
4. Initialize the device
Connect your Trezor, follow the Suite prompts to create a new wallet, and generate your recovery seed. This seed is the only way to restore your funds — write it down on the supplied card.
5. Set a PIN
Choose a unique PIN you will remember. The PIN protects the device even if someone gains physical access.
6. Firmware updates
Allow Trezor Suite to install the latest firmware if prompted. Firmware updates improve security and add features — don’t disconnect during the process.
7. Start using your wallet
After setup, you can send and receive supported cryptocurrencies, review history, enable advanced features (passphrases, hidden wallets), and manage your portfolio safely.

- Write your recovery seed on the provided cards. Never store the seed digitally or photograph it.
- Keep the seed in a secure, offline location (safe, deposit box, or secure physical split-storage).
- Do not share your PIN or seed with anyone. Beware of phishing and unsolicited support requests.
